If you have solar shades that could use a good cleaning, look no further. We'll show you how to clean vinyl window shades without damaging them. Solar roller shades can be cleaned with a vacuum or warm soapy water and a soft scrub brush.
Are your solar shades dusty or dirty? We’ll show how to clean your shades the right way - without damaging them. Let’s get started.
Here’s what you need:
vacuum with hose attachment warm water microfiber cloth mild dish soap
Solar shades are made with vinyl coated fibers, so they can be wiped down with warm soapy water for cleaning. Be sure to use a clean microfiber cloth and mild dish soap. Leave the shade lowered to dry.
If you have exterior solar shades that need deep cleaning, you can take them down and scrub with a soft brush and soapy water, then wash down with the hose. Be careful to keep fabric flat and un-crumpled.
Never submerge roller shades in water, as it may damage internal mechanisms.
If your solar shades just need to be dusted, cover your vacuum hose with a sock or use the brush attachment and swipe across the fabric. Support the fabric from the back to prevent it from being pulled into the hose and crumpled.
