Roman shades are easy to install, in this short video you will learn how to install a Roman shade with a standard cord lift. For easiest installation, a cordless screwdriver with drill bits and a pencil are all you will need. Before starting, carefully unpack your shades and mounting hardware. Check the printed instructions included with your product to familiarize yourself with the contents of your box.
Your Roman shade headrail will have drilled, grommeted holes in the headrail where you will place your brackets, To mark your bracket position, tighten the two brackets onto the headrail and then hold your shade inside the top of the window and then mark the position of each bracket on the back side. After marking your mounting positions, remove the brackets from the headrail in order to install them onto the window. With the wingnut positioned in front, use your bracket to mark your drill holes. For easiest installation, pre-drill your installation holes where marked. Install each bracket using two of the supplied mounting screws per bracket. The proper number of brackets will be included based on the width of your shade. Position the pin on the bracket inside of the grommeted hole. Push up on the headrail and tighten the wing nuts to secure your shade. Finish by lowering and testing your new shade. To lower, pull the cord toward the center of your shade and slowly raise your hand while holding onto the cord. To raise your shades, pull the lift cord away from your shade at any angle.
